How do you get over the envious feeling of those

If you are envious of people who can drink with impunity you are probably not done yet. I was so broken when when I surrendered this time I knew I was done!:confounded: Don't try to convince yourself you can be engaged in drinking situations and stay sober. If you hang out in a Barber's Shop long enough you are eventually going to get a haircut!!:haircut_woman: If you have to go to an event that serves alcohol make sure you have a backup plan and an escape route! I just remind myself how I used to feel the day after I drank... no thanks.

Drunk people are annoying AF. My life when drinking was not good. It was not fun. Looking back on it with clarity of mind I can see just how unmanageable it was.

And I have seen enough relapses to know how it goes. I would start right where I left off. There wouldn’t be a slow progression like the first time.

2 ppl I love have relapsed after 6+ years clean and sober. 1 lost her kids and the other was shooting up. And it happened fast.

I’m not unique. I’m not special. I am powerless and if I forget that I’m fuc#ed.

You have to accept that you have an allergy to alcohol and you can control how much or how often you drink except through abstinence. Play the record fast forward and see how drinking can mess up your life.

This is a question I continuously ask myself because I STILL get jealous of normal drinkers. Just this weekend my son had baseball games and front and center were a row of moms, getting their drink on, sipping out of NON conspicuous red cups. How dare they! Lol

Me and one of my sober roommates were just talking about that I was thinking and wondering why us why can we not drink socially? Why can't we just drink on weekends and be good Monday through Friday or why can't we just have one beer or two beers and call it good? why do we have to find the bottom of the bottle every time ?it just is the way it is for us addicts and alcoholics a lot of the time I say it's not fair acceptance is the key though

I tried to reinforce my sobriety with aligning goals. For example a diet and exercise plan. If I have more goals that keep me sober I'm more focused on that.

I don't get jealous of earthlings for any reason, especially what they consume. Who cares? Jealous of people who make poor decisions and act like complete idiots? No need to be jealous of that.

You look at the consequences and the outcome of the road they can go down if they have the disease of alcoholism or addiction and how it can affect thier lives. And you should change your people, places and things.

I don't. I just drink
