How do you let loose without the lethal liquids anymore?

Trying to stay happy af while staying sober af, but I need more!! Maybe it’s the little alcoholic in me, but I miss the care-free nights; singing off-tune, dancing on tables, and just letting loose. The nights you looked forward to. I feel like I don’t know how to feel that release nowadays.

I was worried about this too but as long as the music is good, you can still find me dancing on tables and letting loose.

Give it sometime, you’ll discover who you really are and what excites you.

I get what your saying. I’m not sure I’ve ever really been able to totally let loose in forever, but as Shawn says, I line my nice little life. The only thing that gives me that surge is playing sports. I play in 2 competitive adult soccer leagues. I do get crazy competitive on the field. It gets my juices flowing pretty good

I 100% get you. 2+ years sober it’s my biggest struggle. I’ve become content with a quiet, peaceful … although somewhat lonely life. But,…. I’m old, IDK what I would do if I were in my 20’s or even 30’s. I guess in a way I recognize I lost the privilege to let loose. That sucks. There is no one to blame but me. It’s part of my price to pay. (I’m only speaking for myself). Best wishes.

It will take more time .it will go a way.

Try those things sober. We didn't get sober to be Boring. I'm just as fun and spur of the moment sober. I might be doing these things in different places. Still sing out of key, jump on a table and scream. It's just as fun and we make memories cause we actually remember these things. And no headache in the morning....

Same.. it has taken me a while to realize I still can get loose without the “liquid courage”. Trust me In the right setting and with the right friends you’ll get loose and have a blast. Make plans to go out or do activities that you’ll look forward to. With time you’ll get used to being sober and not giving a sh!t what people think. Go dance on tables and sing your heart out!
