How do you navigate the end of a relationship where you still love each other, but too much damage was done?

The question is, does the damage mean it is beyond repair? A leveled city can be rebuilt. Is the damage due to a dysfunctional relationship between you?

I look at it like this, if it is that you love each other, but go together like dynamite and fire, you can do nothing but harm trying to carve out a niche for your relationship. If you love each other and are good together; as in productive towards positive goals; then no damage is so great it cannot be fixed. If that is the case counseling may help.

Sorry you’re going thru this my friend. If you have come to the conclusion that it’s better to separate, then I suppose it’s for the good for the both of you. Try to think of it as this isn’t the end of your story. It may be the end of this chapter, but there is more to the story that has not been written yet. Nobody knows what happens next, but I promise that if you continue to take care of yourself and stay sober one day at a time…your life will get better. Have faith that if you do your part, that you will be ok. I’ve seen so many miracles happen in sobriety. You can do this. Hope you can report back and let us know what miracles happened in your life :peace_symbol:

Time away from each other. Then you will see if you truly love ones another. Many times we confuse obsessing with love. Feels the same but it’s not. Give your self space if you don’t your only dining more damage to what’s broken. And you will learn to hate each other
