How does one go about finding a sponsor?

When you hear someone in the meeting share a part of story, says things that move you, or that person has what you want (not cars, $$, husband)… quality sobriety has worked the steps, has time to help you . Then ask them to be your sponsor. You can even ask them to just be a temp sponsor see how it goes.

I went to meetings, listened and waited to hear someone speak who had what I wanted. Someone who I could relate to and who I felt I would be comfortable opening up to. When I first heard my sponsor speak, I knew he was the right one, & I approached him immediately after the meeting.
