How to get through a breakup only a few months after starting sobriety. I was the type of person to drink alone and now I'm just sitting here by myself trying to figure out how to make it through all the waves, stay sober and find myself again. I was proud of myself for not isolating myself and drinking away the pain by staying with family for the past week but I know I need to be home with my animals. Unfortunately home is out in the mountains away from everyone and everything. Anyone have any tips or going through a similar thing?
i say take tons of walks and stay outside as much as possible, even if you’re bringing your animals!! create art, even if you usually don’t or you think your bad at it; draw, paint, color, ceramics etc. journal, meditate, yoga!! keep yourself busy although you what to do nothing, push yourself. your ex would hate for you to have a glow up - but now you’re finally ready to fully date yourself and the feelings amazing, trust me. it takes time

Just try to meet people and have interactions with them. I'm willing to talk to you anything if need be. Also I agree with the first comment. Go outside as much as possible, maybe photograph the beauty in nature, embrace the sun and meditate when you can.
Very good advice above. The animals help too. And I hate to be ‘that guy’…. But maybe you are better off focusing on your sobriety at this point. I was really glad I took 18 months off relationships and worked on me, now I’m much more content alone. I live rurally also, I get it.
Definitely gunna be focused on my sobriety. I was with him for the past couple years. I'm in no hurry to find someone new. Being comfortable while alone and sober is my goal so I'm glad to know it can grow into that with time.
Thank you for the advice. You guys have all given me things to think about.
You sound like you know what you’re doing. It does get easier for sure. Now a couple years sober I’m not even sure I’d want someone in my home all the time. It does get easier, hang in there.
Thank you. I'll have to listen to it. I really appreciate your input and I'll reach out.
