How To Not Need Invincibility?

I have a lot of mental hurdles that dont bother me until they do. The primary ones bothering me are 1. Need to be (or at least feel) invincible and 2. Need to be the best at everything

Is there anyone alive who has overcome this? Is it even possible? Is therapy the only option?

I see & hear you. You are not random or a loser. You are the only you, and are cared for even when you don’t feel it. All of us struggle, even those who appear to have everything figured out. Seems like you have given yourself two impossible goals, invincibility & perfection. Clearly you are goal oriented, a hard worker, and set high expectations for yourself. Try letting go of your control over trying to achieve those expectations and instead put your trust in it being ok if you just get through the day. Maybe daily affirmations and journaling to remind yourself that all you need is to be present and ok each day. You are enough, you are cared for, despite your invincibility and imperfections. I’m sending you love and hopes of feeling heard. :heart:

Ego is not my amego! I remember that my ego is my enemy every time I feel less than or superior.
My ego was and still is the root of all my problems. I don’t need a therapist to tell me that.
Doing the 12 steps with a good sponsor made a huge difference in my mental health and life.
