Hey Gregg…. Sorry about your job but this is a good start if your looking for help , best advice I can give you is stay connected , do the work …. I also lost my job years ago because of drinking , felt like my world was closing but staying sober things do get better , hang in there

Gregg attend an AA meeting everyday for the next 30 to 90 days …. It’ll work if you work it :raised_hands:t3::pray:t3:

Community is everything. I've tried doing it alone, didn't work. If you're not sure about 12 step there are lots of non 12 step too! SMART Recovery is one of my favs and they have lots of online options.

Download the app “meeting finder” it’s free and shows you all the meetings based off your gps. Go to a meeting, and listen. You got this man.. we have all been where you are.

Your in the right place. Find some AA meetings in your area. Show up and listen. See if you identify with anyone.
That’s where you start to get the solution.

Sent you a friend request brother I was exactly where you are back in April. Glad you reached out. Idk how to use this but you can send me a message if you know how. Get some people in your circle. It saves my life. I have 111 days clean and sober.

Go to meetings. I avoided them for years. At least a decade. They make a huge difference. Even online meetings, it doesn't matter. Everyone's life tells a story and we all have so much yet to learn. Glad that you made the first step. Keep on keepin on!

Everyone that replied is awesome and correct! I couldn’t get and stay sober alone. I had to make my sobriety the number 1 priority in my life! Over finance, romance and even family! Yes even family. Because sober I can have everything, not sober I lose everything and everyone.
You got this if you really want it.
I’ll friend request you. You can reach out to me if you’re serious. Best of luck!

If I had it to do over again, I would try MAT over abstinence. Specifically the Sinclair method. I've spent almost half my life in abstinence, but now there are other options. But alcohol is a class 1 carcinogen, same as nicotine, so perhaps I would've gotten cancer if drinking. Only you can decide your path, and a lot of folks will have opinions about it. Contentment is key.
