I am an alcoholic with 19 years in recovery. I’ve never taken pills other than prescribed, or abused other substances. I am an alcoholic, not an addict.

Ok. Guess addiction doesn’t count with drinking.

My brain reacts badly to alcohol specifically. Nothing else.

Gee, your lucky then. I’ve always thought alcohol was a drug also. Guess you can handle all the other substances just as long as you don’t drink huh. Must be nice.

Ya see. I don’t want to. You do.

Ahhh, lol. Actually, I don’t distinguish between drugs. I smoke pot, I’m no longer sober. I take a Vicodin, I’m no longer sober. Have been in AA meetings where people are taking stuff other than alcohol and walk up and get a few year chip reeking of pot. That is not sobriety in my book. You do what makes you feel best and live a good life. If it’s working then good for you. Just not me is all. I take this as life and death. Anything that alters my reality is a drug to me. And I am definitely an addict. Have an addictive personality.

It is life and death. And I don’t use anything that is not prescribed. It sounds like you are an addict. I hope you want life enough to go to any length to get clean and sober.

So if it’s legally dispensed it isn’t wrong right? Lol. Moving on.

Hey, just checking in with you. Have you put together some sober days and nights since we texted?

Ahhhh, dude, 2+ years and nothing till I leave this reality to the next. 1000% sober. Good life. No complaints. Working NA and AA. In my dna.

If you read what you said a month ago, you said that you were ‘no longer sober’ and that you were using weed and Vicodin. What’s up

Read it again. Was being ironic.

It sounds as though you are having a non discussion based on opinions of who can argue better..which is a sad statement on the way us less hairy animals interact with each other, instead of greeting each other with a warm heart and open arms and learning from each others opinions and lessons that can be taught if only listened to. So it goes I guess.

For myself, I’ve always had an addictive personality. It was sugar before alcohol. Alcohol freed me from that. I put down alcohol and became bulimic for years till I drank again. We’re all different.

That is good to hear. It is what I intended.
