I am at 80 days sober today, i was really hoping that I would be a little more motivated and with more energy after I stopped drinking, but that doesn't seem to have happened yet. Is this common at this point of my journey for those that have been through it and if so, about when did you start noticing the changes? I also seem to have taken up sweets alot more than I used to.
The motivation comes from within. I started off by getting up with the alarm and not hitting snooze. For a week. Then I would get up and make the bed right away. Make the corners tight, fluff the pillows. For another week. Then get up, make the bed and make coffee… little steps. Each little victory and accomplishment leads to bigger and more accomplishments. I still have this routine, and I have noticed I am more motivated in every aspect every day. Just add a new small accomplishment every week.
The sweets… lol, yeah that’s common. I found ice cream. The reason is alcohol has a TON of sugar in it, technically speaking it is made from sugar. Our body’s crave it, because it is taken away. So we go for the next source. My doctor told me I got fluffy and I need to learn portion control…. Lol that seems to be a common theme… control.
