I am coming up on 6 months clean. I am having trouble meeting new friends. I go to meetings but just having trouble finding new people to chill with outside of meetings

Hey Chris — glad you’re going to meetings! That’s a great place to start.
Are you showing up early and staying late? Try doing that for a while and asking men for their numbers. In my experience other men are always happy to have another sober contact. From there, just reach out regularly until a friendship forms.
Do you have a sponsor? Who does he hang out with?
A service commitment is another great way to build relationships with people.
I hope this helps! Stick with it. I met almost all of my current friends in the rooms and they are the best people I’ve ever known. I know you can find the same!

I am actually keeping my eye open for a sponsor. I kinda was getting pushed to a certain person last night but I don't think they would be a good fit. I really didn't like that.
A sponsor is a great way to meet people. I make sure to take my sponsees to the meetings and dinners I go to with other alcoholics and help them build their sober networks.
Try making finding a sponsor a priority. You can always get a new one if you end up not liking whoever you pick.
I am keeping my eyes open. For sure but I'm definitely having a hard time. I don't have a license so I uber everywhere I don't live super close to meetings but I go to 3 a week. Thank you for your words.
