I am grateful that my kids are well adjusted and we have an open dialogue about drugs and my recovery. I’m hoping that if they ever decide they want to try drugs they’ll talk to me first.

Was open with my son about my struggles with mental health and substance abuse so that he can understand what I go through on a daily basis.

13 & 15. I’ve been honest with them from an early age. They saw a lot of stuff when they were young, and I wanted to make sure they understood why and what I’ve done to change

Transparency is best! That’s what I have learned.

I have been through that experience. It is amazing. My kids are totally open with me. The crazy thing is they’ve never seen an alcoholic drug addict father.
