I am heading to a convention for work this weekend that I go to every year. Since I went sober I have not attended Friday because it is an alcoholics paradise, free booz everywhere. The thing is I am the featured speaker this year on Friday night. I am not concerned about the alcohol because I am telling my story. I was asked to talk about what changed my career from average to being one of the top political strategists in the biz. That’s a simple story because the change is the story of my sobriety. I am around alcohol everyday and still get tempted from time to time but that temptation is not my prayer this time. My prayer is that my story is heard by someone who needs to hear it. Thought that sharing what I am doing may help others understand that while I am not proud of what I had done, my story is able to help others. Just like your story can help others one day and that is when you can be proud because your story can help another find their way to a better life
