I am in active addiction, but wish desperately to be free of this burden, so I came here.
What’s your addiction??
sounds like ur ready
Best thing to do is ask for help!

I'm here brother. Just watched my close friend withdraw hard.
You can make it and he was watching my son while , I work.
You need a meeting. Real human connection is key.
We are all here for help !!!
Joshua— coming to this realization is step one. The next step has to do with people, places and things. You cannot hang out with the same people at the same places doing the same things and expect to stay sober/clean. If Wednesday night is pool night where you get high and drink with the “crew,” pool is out, and the crew is out. Does this mean you need to change all of your friends who you use with. Yes. Absolutely. That’s tough, but it’s a HUGE piece of the battle.
First things first is recognizing you need help, second, go out and get it. It’s readily available and I promise you there are plenty of people willing to. Good luck brother, you really don’t have to live like that anymore
I recently discovered that all I had to do the last 35 yrs was ask for help. Seriously. It changed my entire world
As great as this website is it’s not even close to what we need. No one’s will power is enough to overcome addiction and live healthy. Sorry but it’s a sad truth. The hardest part of beating an addiction is walking through the door of an AA or NA meeting. Ask for help and if needed get into a rehab. It’s not an easy process but if you ready it’s the best decision you will ever make and you will begin to enjoy the journey.
Its hard to break the chains bc part of it we romanized in a twisted way. Trust that you can be free of the burden. It took me almost a decade to finally walk away from it and I feel alive again and now I really see the beauty in life. The app is helpful but if you can’t stop on your own, it’s worth the few weeks of detox at a rehab. Good luck and if you need to talk reach out
Good morning Joshua, I was in the same situation 8 months ago? I kept telling myself, " I'll call tomorrow, just one more hit". Then I overdosed! I was fortunate enough to have people around me, that love me, that saved my life? Even then on the way to the hospital I found another bag. I hope today you take that step forward, I can't tell you how amazing "FREEDOM" really is! Good luck with your journey, mine wasn't easy, but it was worth it and so are you!
I just start my journey going on 30 days. I was done with my own drama. Look up book I’m reading called Sober is Dope great book to start with the messages and prayers helped me you will like it on those tough moments.
I agree 100%. While this website is great, it's no substitute for proven recovery like NA or AA. Please seek help!
