I am over the rooms (for me) being Anglo, male,

My bad.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ive been to many meetings where I was the only cracker. I never once thought it weird. I was in a predominantly black neighborhood. I mean, it's not rocket science.

But maybe I should complain that it's not divers enough for me. Not enough of whitey there for me to relate to sobriety.

OP, there are quite a few virtual rooms/meetings that are either BIPOC, for specifically just Men or just Women of Color, or BIPOC+allies. There’s LGBTQ+ recovery spaces. And there’s stories in the Big Book of some of the early women and POC pioneers of AA, whose struggles to recover in spaces that felt unsafe might give you experience, strength and hope. You aren’t the first to feel out of place, and certainly won’t be the last. What are you looking for? That might help you discover the solutions you seek, instead of the ones you don’t :slight_smile:

Or you could understand you experience with race and race identity is not everyone's. I live in a part of the country where race doesn't matter much at all. That isn't the norm just an hour from where I live. I can take you to sundown towns not far from my metro. Just because you are comfortable with a different culture doesn't mean the other culture is comfortable with you. I am completely comfortable around anyone, but I have had encounters where I was threatened simply because I was white. I have also had encounters where my 6'+ frame terrified a little old lady. You should try to see from all perspectives before you spout off on how your whiteness is under attack.

Sorry about my last comment! The post text was hidden when I was writing and I assumed from the brief subject text and the reactions what it said. I see you clearly stated a need for diversity. Apologies for implying you hadn’t. You’re seen and heard :heart:

Slow down, killer. I haven't said a word about my whiteness being under "attack" in any way. I'm not that guy. Anyone on this forum/app knows that about me, so don't try to read me as such.

Hey Taylor just a heads up, derogatory terms are against community guidelines. And yes cracker and whitey are derogatory.

I didn't use them derogatorily.

You're struggling. You're on the ropes. Tap out Steve.

The use of those words to identify race are prohibited. I'm not on the ropes. I'm trying to keep from banning you.

You're gonna do what you're gonna do. I can't control that. I already "said" them. Nothing I can do at this point except sit here and wait for your judgement.

The judgment was the warning. I believe they weren't meant to be derogatory or you'd already be gone. You have helped a lot of people here and are in general a good addition to the community. I want to keep you here so I warn you, so we don't have to ban you

There are plenty of meetings with people of your background. You really can’t find one? Seriously?

Wth do you think you're doing? Staying on topic?

Haha

Where are you located? I’ve been to some good meetings with a lot of diversity! That would be so frustrating only getting one point of view that I’m assuming is completely opposite of yours?

Good point. Diversity seems to be subjective these days, depending on who uses the term.

I am in the DFW area.
