I am so grateful for this sobriety journey

6 yrs ago, today my husband's life ended by his own hand. As sad as today could be I reflect and know that had he not made that choice I would not be waking up sober today. I am grateful to be sober, each and everyday.
I am grateful this morning for sweeping the kitchen :raised_hands: and grateful for the meal I made for myself.
This morning, I am grateful for our front desk ladies and the hard work they put in scheduling clients and taking payments. I am grateful for the short visit one made to visit me back in my office yesterday, we had a couple of good laughs.
I am grateful this morning for Shiloh and her progress with house training and allowing me to pet her. She didn't make it to the groomers. We will try again. She was getting too stressed with me trying to get her and so was I. The sadest cries came though when she realized we were leaving without her. It was awful.
Today I am grateful for the Coping Skills group. The clients are learning so much and it is so good to talk with them about thier implementation of their new skills. Today we are doing more on Automatic thoughts and mindfulness skills.
Today I am grateful to wake up and have a job to go to that I  love!
Grateful. Sober. Strong. Today.

Thank you.

@laura429559 first off my condolences for the last your husband.
Second, congratulations on your days of sobriety!.

Recovery is all about building something beautiful out of tragedy. Not many people can do that. You are an amazing person, and I am sure you are a great inspiration to the people around you.
