I am struggling because I have been sober for the first time in my adult life and I'm now 50. My addiction became Soo bad I have been homeless for the last decade. I live in a halfway house now and I am not used to being around people like this, especially a bunch of gossipping females. It is very hard for me. I almost left last night but I kept my feet planted.
Hang in there!!! I was at the same place u r not long ago I am 62 and finally got my life back. Remember that u r doing this to help urself. Ignore things and people that don't add to ur sobriety. Im praying for you!!!!
@alicia377222 CONGRATULATIONS
on your 174 days of sobriety. Keep up the good work.
Nothing worse than being around a bunch of cackling hens..
It’s rough being around people you don’t vibe with but don’t let them deter your path! You got this!
Chin down, guard up breathe deep and keep moving forward!
I feel you, girl. I'm a woman who is not comfortable with gossip from anyone. Be patient if you want what we have. Stick around for the miracle.
It gets better. Keep fighting. Ignore the negativity around you and focus on you and your goals. Dont be deterred by weak minded individuals who wanna bring you down. Fight your fight, stay strong and move.
Hey hang in there !! I’ve been in and out of treatment centres and recovery houses for 18 years .. I know it’s hard to be where you nuts better then being Homeless on the streets
Remember the devil uses people .there not gossiping people they are two legged demons treat them as such. And trust god
One day at a time
Just try to keep a open mind. Structure is a positive thing. Personalities before principles will always occur so just try to discern the heart and be aware not overall concerned. Also it will improve overtime. People are just people not dogs or children honey. You're doing great. Open up and release to your higher power:+1:
Thank You All Soo Much!
I hear ya
It gets better, stay focused on the positive stuff. Gratitude. I went to a lot, and I mean A LOT of meetings when I was new and lived in a treatment center. At least two each weekday and hung out at meeting halls/alano clubs on the weekends. Surrounded myself with people who are living sober. Routing for you to stay!! 🫶🏾
Love the Advice! I'm doing just that, thank you
