I am struggling with gratitude lately, I will say I am grateful to be alive and leave it at that.

I have a really hard time with this also. I do an exercise in my journal each morning. I find 3 things to be grateful for...
Example: (my favorite color is blue) I'm grateful I can see the color blue, some people are colorblind.

I know everyone says that you should live with an attitude of gratitude and whatever, but you know what, that is entirely unrealistic to me. You're allowed to have bad days. You're allowed to be grumpy and you're allowed to wanna scream into the void. Negative emotions are common, and sometimes even healthy. Just don't let them consume you and don't get high over it.
