I AM THIS HOPE ..TODAY. What can I do?

I AM THIS HOPE ..TODAY.

What can I do ? I am only one person, a woman broken by her life and victimized by my past.
I am just me, how can I affect society, the world or
People's perceptions?
I am only One
One in a million.
I have walked places others fear to tread.
I have battled my demons, and am conquering them.

I am only one voice
But I will scream from the alleyways, streets, sidewalks, cities, country, The World ...until someone listens and makes a change.

Addiction is not a condition of moral lack or choices made by weak or broken souls. It is a powerful and cunning enemy that gives your mind no peace; takes good solid people hostage, crushes your self worth,
until finally you surrender . You accept, and begin to define yourself as just an Addict...or worse deny you are in the grips of this monster hellbent on taking everything good from you. Even your life..is no longer yours and you give with it every time you use.

Love, devotion, family, self-respect, none of these is strong enough to compete, so you fall further and further until the rocks are at your back and you cannot possibly fall further. When you hit that bottom ..it shocks your system into panic , you scramble to reach out to Anyone or Anything..that might possibly STOP THE PAIN..
No one, Nothing Can...until inside you so buried in fear and covered in mire ...is a voice you can barely hear whispering ..I CAN.
YOUR WHISPER
YOUR VOICE
HOPE
Hope is what each of us Addicts has forgotten .
Listen to your Hope whisper.
Hope to be free.
Hope to escape our pain
Hope to experience living life
Hope to find our purpose
Hope to restore us to sanity
Hope to think we CAN AND DO RECOVER.
HOLD THAT HOPE. SPREAD THAT HOPE.
BE. THAT. HOPE...
Our world is desperately searching for it.
I'm Amanda an incredibly blessed and hopeful recovering addict...who recovers loudly .

Wow. Mission statement received loud and clear. Hope all is well

Wow! I remember feeling hopeless. It was a little more than 4 months ago. I went to a meeting, but it didn’t help. I was too much in my head and full of self pity and hatred. As the meeting ended, I moved to a chair by the exit door. I had my head in my hands covering my face because I was so full of shame. As the meeting ended and people filed out, an Angel named Peter pulled a chair over and sat down with me. I barely remember what he said, but he reached down into my darkness and pulled me out like only another alcoholic/addict could do. His story and recovery gave me just enough hope to make it thru that night. The next night another Angel named Moises did the same. I’m so grateful for the hope and love these guys gave me when I had none. Thank you for your message of hope. May I be blessed to give that back to another sick and suffering alcoholic/addict :peace_symbol:
