I am working out a notice at a job I hate. I've been depressed, having panic attacks, and my first thought is to take a shot of Jameson to take the edge off. AND my last day is St Patrick's Day fml. Need some words of encouragement. All the positive please thank you.
You’ve got this, Mike. I have been in similar job situations, and ended up using alcohol to cope. I started noticing all the shamrock decorations at the store yesterday, and I was like, oh! It’s that time of year again! Oof. I work at a brewery, so there’s another great factor.
panic attacks are the absolute worst, I feel for you. Let me know how I can help!
It's not the holiday that bugs me, because amateurs, but it's more the stress of leaving a job I put so much work into, and I hate letting people down. To much of a yes man I guess.
Thank you for the support though keep it coming!
I get putting your all into a career, a job, or anything else regardless if you just turns your stomach at the very end and brings on so much anxiety you may be like why the heck am I doing this and what comes next. I can say from personal experience because that is all i can go by and I don't know your exact situation because I am not you. I know how it feels to be working a job or career like I stated and feel as though you are going to let people down whether that be w,x and z and sometimes y. You should attempt to show up for yourself and be there for yourself so you can bring the best to anything you do. I am sure you already know this but regardless of man or woman we define ourselves sometimes not by the work we do but by our work ethic. Booze isn't going to take the edge off yes it is a depressant and will help with slowing down the central nervous system and prefrontal cortex so you don't think so much and bring you emotional pleasure center of the limbic system, but heck all the stuff surfaces 100 fold at the end and you may be in a bigger mess than before your drink. Try to breathe you will get through this and focus on self care and self love and the rest will fall into place maybe not how you want it or in the time you want it, but holiday's come and go, but small steps shaping your behavior whether that be positive or negative are life changing. Hope help and didn't come off as too long winded or rambling.
Only 3 more days of chaos to go! All I can think about is leaving, and I'm sure everyone will expect me to have a car bomb or something with them at the end. I though about just leaving and not saying anything lol
That's rough. If you can get through this, you'll be so much stronger because of it. The tools that work for you now will be your go-to tools when things get tough in the future. Use this opportunity and stay strong. Don't pick up no matter what one day at a time.
