I cant figure out what the difference will be. In terrible detox at a friends place. 3 rehabs. 4 trips to the ER. Its maddening to keep doing something that brings you no joy when you cognitively know it only makes the anxiety and depression you are feeling all that much worse. Its hard not to want to give up completely.

It’s a HELLof a hump that you’ve got to get yourself over but the rewards your life will receive will begin bringing peace back to your soul. There’s so much good waiting for you but you gotta want it and you gotta fight for it

Thanks mike. Its definitely a fight and I've got to want to wage the battle.

If anyone is thinking about drinking and felt the tremors when stopping, remember that feeling. Nothing is worth making yourself feel that way.

I've been there. All i can say is it is possible it will get better if you don't drink or use one day at a time. It's that simple and that hard. But with the help of the program you can do it. I know this because I did it. Detox almost killed me. Relapse almost killed me. I know what it's like to see yourself using against your own will. I'm 18 months clean and sober after a few restarts. Life is pretty good now.

The fact that I could have a seizure or worse adds a painful mental element to to the obvious physical one. Drinking is not really living for me, so i have to give myself a chance.

Totally know the feeling. Hallucinated my last two detoxes. Get through it. You should be through the worst of it by now. Get to a meeting as soon as you can. You’ve been around the block. You know that you have to start doing what folks tell you. The difference can be doing the actual work.

Been there too. Last drunk. And detox almost killed me too. Did it on my own.Could take another run, but surely the detox would kill me. One reason among many I will not pick up a drink again. It took me 25 plus years, but I did it, one day at a time. So can you! Get to a meeting, even a zoom meeting. God has got you. Sending prayers and encouragement!
