I did it!

Well yesterday I told this guy I was leaving him. I was honest and told him I wasn’t happy anymore. He didn’t speak to me all day. However that evening he started drinking. Around 1:30am he wakes me up telling me to leave right then. I had no car no money. I was still waiting on my check to hit. Thankfully I have sober friends now because I had someone come help me. It got real ugly with this guy last night. But in the end I’m happy to be away from him and his drinking.

Now that’s taking your power back. We are not stuck. We have choices. There’s nothing like true sober friends to support you thru these challenging times. They want what’s best for you, and your sobriety (both abstinence and emotional) are top priority! Way to overcome the fear and craziness of the ego, and tap into the greater power!!:peace_symbol:❤‍🩹

Being with someone who’s not right for you is never good. Adding drinking when you’re trying to stay sober is even worse. Glad you’re in a better place!

Good for you.
He reminds me of me when I was young and drinking.
Thank God I had a great sponsor who encouraged me to stay away from women for a while until I could figure out who I was and learn some basics about how life works.

This is a classic example of why most people in early sobriety are nowhere near ready for a relationship. They are too insecure inside of themselves and he certainly has some growing to do for sure.

I'm glad you are far along enough in your sobriety journey that you didn't end up back out there with him.

On a side note:
Why don't you forget about us guys for awhile and do something exciting? You should go to the nearest Regional Airport and tell them that you'd like to go up for a discovery flight. You can take the controls and see what it's like to preflight an aircraft and take the controls.

You can contact Gainesville Regional Airport.
