Lots of people need help but do you want help? If so, go find a nearby recovery meeting. You'll meet lots of people just like you who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state.

Me neither! I've made it a few days, but keep going back to wine and always regret it the next day. Is there any virtual meetings anyone knows of?

I am wondering that as well. I was just looking for a virtual meeting when I found this app. I feel your pain, I am trying to get in the mindset to quit, but feel I'm not there yet. I've previously quit for 45 and 99 days before.

Hi Mariana, there are online AA meetings that you can find on aa.org, The Luckiest Club has a community option where you have access to meetings, and She Recovers also has online meetings.

Hi Jonathan! My suggestion is to try some meetings to get support to stop. You also have to be ready to stop, if there’s doubts it can be difficult to stop.

I feel the same way. I have thought about going to a meeting but have always talked myself out of it. There are so many feelings going on inside me like frustration anxiety depression. Then the added stress of attending a meeting and the stigma that I feel people will think of me. Maybe a virtual meeting will be a good place to start.

Welcome Jonathan, I’m glad you are here asking for help. The first thing I did was go to a mental/chemical dependency department of my local hospital. From there I’ve been in out patient, inpatient and now I’m working with a sponsor the AA program. I go to Meetings regularly. I have a service commitment at my home group. I participate in meetings and now have a sponsee.
My advice is to go to an AA meeting get a sponsor and read the big book. Do the steps. The 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous will give you an experience that only you can have an awakening and a new way to live your life. I’ve gone a complete personality change because of these steps. I now have a beautiful relationship with my son as well as the rest of my family. I have more friends now then I’ve ever thought I would have. My opportunities are endless. If you need me to help get you going until you find a sponsor local. I’m here for you.
