I dont know how to talk to people

I use to drink so I could socialize and relax. Since getting sober I have no idea how to talk to people. Even at AA meetings I dont know what to talk about and just feel awkward. I feel frustrated with myself. I dont know how to make sober friends. Anyone have any advice?

Take your time, you'll be alright

I was so uptight about going to meetings that I would find the location on my lunchbreak so I would not be late for it in the evening. The thought of being late would be too awkward or I knew I wouldn't go in. Talk about uncomfortable, lol!
I always introduced myself as a newcomer in the beginning. After the meeting if I just hung out and offered to put chairs away or just hang for a little bit, people would say welcome. It exposed me to people in a relaxed way. I didn't talk in meetings for a bit. Slowly I got comfortable with the same people and the same meeting that I could remember names and start saying hi. Go before the meetings is another way to get more comfortable.
You got this!
