I feel like I am constantly failing at life and I don’t know how to get out of this rut. I feel like I’m trapped. I want to drink to numb everything but I know that will ruin my health and my marriage. I’m embarrassed by the way I feel inside. Embarrassed that I keep failing. Embarrassed by my thoughts. I know I can do this but damn do I wish meditation is something that worked for me :woman_facepalming:t3:. I’m mortified by who I’ve become struggling….

I can relate. Have you listened to any of the podcasts on this app or checked out the Insight Timer app for meditations about recovery?

Your not alone !! Reach out to this community!! I tried to cope alone too before because of my embarrassment of myself. But here you don’t have to. We are in this together.

Your addiction’s most powerful tool is convincing you that you need to do this alone. Hint: you can’t. So get help with a program of recovery where you work with people who have been where you’re at, and are where you want to be.

Have you found any meetings or groups? The last thing is to feel alone. We are never alone in this struggle. My therapist helped me a lot and I never thought I needed one. I also use the online refuge recovery meetings because there are lots of them at all times of day and being online you see people from all over the world going through the same things. Hope my story helps. Stay the course

Hey Maddie! You received so many great and supportive replies. I don’t really have anything to add except that you can add me to the list of people that care for you, and want to see you find peace in recovery :peace_symbol:

Get outside yourself. Meetings. Praying. Keep talking to others. Keep it simple.

I know what your talking about. We don’t fail when something don’t work out it’s just life saying this ain’t for you keep searching. Always go forward not back. What’s done is done. Failure is part of life we all fail every day at something. You can’t dwell on it.
