Having a really hectic day today!
I do not really “ love” your comment but I am emphatic to your f-d up day dealing with relationships and people!
Well I hope it's going better by now. This too shall pass!
It will be okay
Thank u for the support. I am starting to feel better.
So glad to hear that
Feelings are never facts and they too shall pass! You are not alone!
Oh my gosh.
I’m not having a crappy day while need this reminder like uh, constantly-“ feelings are never facts and they too shall pass”!
Shanice, keep posted please…glad to read that you started feeling better!
Shanice, will you have a few minutes to do something nice for yourself before the day / evening ends?
Echoing what Sajen Cruz relayed…you are not alone, Shanice!
AA says if you want more serenity, lower your expectations. ( or does AA say that…?) Anyway, it works!
This helped me: I heard a guy say once, just because I have a hard or bad day doesn’t mean I have a bad life. If I had a bad day in the past, it felt like my whole world was crashing down around me. That was just my faulty perception. Now I know, I pray to my higher power and say thanks for getting me through today and I’m probably going to need some help again tomorrow. The point is when I create storms in my mind, which I’m an expert at, I can ask for guidance and strength and I ALWAYS get through those times. Often what I’m so scared of happening in the future or tomorrow never ends up happening anyway. Just identify today as a bad day, look to help someone else and talk or pray to you HP and you will get through it.
Shanice
It's hard for any of us to hear "this too shall pass."
It's easy to tell someone else but when it's you that's going through the chaos, it never does feel good.
That's the thing about sobriety...
We're used to suppressing what we feel with a drink and then another drink and it never does end very well.
In sobriety, we learn to take things one day at a time and sometimes one moment at a time. Life never really does get easier. We simply get better at handling life one day at a time.
