I finished up working a circuit! I've been working on this one off and on for a while, and it is now complete. No more extension chords in the house!
While I was wiring this circuit I got to the last part and it didn't work. I think there's an analogy here to sobriety since before I could have felt like all the work was wasted. Instead I carefully inspected the work, and realized that between the first and second outlets the wire had gotten broken. I still had 10 or so solid pulls of new wire (perhaps like sober days, weeks, months), but that broken run stopped the power from getting to all the outlets. I pulled the broken wire out and repaired it with good wire, and everything worked!
This may be a stretch of an analogy, but when we have slipped we didn't lose our sober time previously as it is still a part of our lives. And, I want the power of sobriety in all aspects of my life.
