So instead of AA I’m doing different addiction recovery program through a church based outlet. It isn’t just centered around alcohol this group.
I went last night and made some great connections. I went 15 miles up the road to the same meeting just different city different night. So I got a double dose of step 10 this week.
As I think back about what I enjoyed is the support. To tell people yesterday I was in day 5 and the room claps for me….it was uplifting. To share today that I’m on day 6 with a different set of people and they clap for me….it’s uplifting.
If you are afraid of exposing yourself don’t think in those terms. People will be supportive that you just showed up for a first time. Addicts want to help other addicts who want help. That’s what I learned tonight. I’m not so afraid of meetings now after this week.
take it one day at a time stay away from bad people places, and things that might cause you to slip up. You got this and most importantly, God has your back.
