I got kicked out of the treatment center I was at.. I’m now at this new place that I hate so much. I feel like I’m not getting the help I need, people are mean and not helpful. any advice?? suggestions? what sober living helped you? Helpful Meetings in Orange County??
I was at Pacific Palms (Dana Point) down there a few years back. They were incredible. The District was a really good place as well (Huntington Beach). As for meetings there are some great ones at the friendship center and I can't remember what church it's at but it was called Cross Talk
If you like a treatment center then it isn't working. In my opinion. I've been institutionalized 9 times . The one i hated most turned out to be the most beneficial one i was ever in.
Nobody wants to be institutionalized. For me the turning point became i didn't like myself. I realized no matter where i went there i was . Unhappy , depressed and sober. Not such a good place to be. It dawned on me that happiness and a healthy sobriety is all within . I searched for happiness for over 30 yrs . Relapse after Relapse institution after institution. Then one day i found peace in the one place i never looked. It was inside me the whole time just buried under 30 years of abuse. Finally surrendering to the fact that theres nothing wrong with drugs or alcohol but in fact there is many things wrong with me. Once i came to this realization and accepted accountability for my illnesses i was only then able to begin recovery. I can only speak for myself and for nobody else but i hope somewhere in what I've said may make a difference in what your going through . Using is easy. Using is fun. Recovery is hard. Recovery is going to save your life. Hard work, dedication, motivation and determination will lead you to places you never thought possible. Just 1 day at a time. God bless
In Huntington Beach, there are great meetings at HOW Hall. In Costa Mesa, the Alano Club has good ones as well. Silver Linings Recovery in HB is really good. I went to Pacific Palms a couple of years ago. It was alright.
Look up Denver recovery center,,,that's where I'm at and the staff are amazing they care about you and your sobriety, you are not treated as another number they take the time to get to know you
Crossroads in phoenix AZ. Saved my life
Casa serena in Santa Barbara is great. A small, all women facility. I had a great experience there.
I would just take it for what it is and leave the rest behind. You might hate it because your fighting the process and your still new in recovery. Learn to live and let God, meditation, pray, journal. Now is the time to get to know yourself. Take full advantage of it today. What's dislike for however long your there for, for something that will be beneficial to the tomorrow. Give it your all and you'll get the most out of it.
Angelina, if i may be a bit direct….do the opposite of what you think and you should be fine…..in other words stop trusting your thinking! It’s the only problem you have! Let some others help you with it…Keith Kayle
