I grew up with an alcoholic father (codependent mother) so lucky me? Haha...I'm the best/worst of both. Can anyone point me towards a resource? Yes...I to the best of right now understand the alcoholism...the codependency not so much and yet I know I have both! Lucky me  well I think that i need to understand both sides better and I have to wonder if there's a category for those of us who are BOTH? Any help/suggestions appreciated

Welcome here. I think most all of us are both.

Reach out to your local Alcoholics Anonymous group and get to a meeting. There is a solution there.

I suggest going to an Al-Anon meeting :pray:t3: this is a branch of AA but it’s for family friends of alcoholics and yes alcoholics can attend too since you dealt with it as a kid

Also CoDA. CoDependents Anonymous.
There are online meetings. You can find 24 hour AA & NA meetings. There are also online meetings for just about any recovery process or program that you can think of. It's one of the best things that Covid-19 gifted to recovering people: the ability to find online recovery and meetings.

I've got more information if you are interested. www.intherooms.com is one such resource!

And I'm 'dual diagnosed' as well as a raving RECOVERING codependent/addict.

I attend a CoDA fellowship in person here in NorCal. Also, the CoDA text hits home for me.
