I guess I cant be nice because people think not appropriate I just everyone to feel good about themselves and have the boast is it bad thing

OK Alex breathe. Now, what is it that you’re trying to tell us?
It’s probably best not to be giving out compliments. You have to look at it from the other’s perspective, not through yours. A harmless compliment can easily be seen as unwanted advancements. Pair that with early sobriety and trouble is on the horizon.
Focus on sobriety, make friends and then build up to that dynamic, but only if they welcome it. You got this Alex
