I had an eye opening experience today. Alcohol has been a problem part of my last 25 years. My last binge has me accepting I need help. I've been a plumber for over 20 years. I went in to work this morning and there was a thank you card sent to me from a customer I had done work for about a month ago. While on the job I had walked by her water heater and in the corner of my eye I noticed that the vent was not connected. In good conscience there was no way I could leave it like that because of the danger of carbon monoxide spilling into her home. I repaired it immediately. I did not charge because I was already doing other work and it took 5 minutes. Come to find out she had been sick and her doctors couldn't figure out why. Her card thanked me for preventing future worsening sickness and she said I most likely saved her life. I realized all these years I have walked by my own sickness, saw that it was there and did nothing about it. Getting that card today was something I needed and I know I am worthy to save myself 1 step at a time.

It's tough at first but once you get a little time under you, you'll realize how wonderful life can really be when you're not tethered to a substance!
All the best!
