I had the most unexpected experience

I had the most unexpected experience at a meeting tonight. My normal meeting is at 5:30 but my triggers were so bad I decided to do a 5pm instead. Turns out it was a bunch of old veterans and I was the only woman. I felt a bit scared or uncomfortable, whatever the word. But those old dudes helped me so much, and I think I really helped them tonight too. Some of them were so grateful to remember how hard it can be in early sobriety and said it gave them hope to keep the path. It was really neat. I may just go back!

In the meeting I regularly attend at 6pm tonight I had the opposite experience. Every woman in the room shared and it brought me to literal tears. It doesn’t matter what we look like on the outside, we’re all the exact same on the inside. Keep it up, Melissa!

My old home group had all the old fellas in the am group, it was my favorite one. Salty old guys with no time for BS but liked to have fun.

Old timers say the newcomer is the most important person in the room. At my home group the old timers are like vampires looking for new blood lol

Love this!

Awesome! Love that!

You should go back. They will more than happy to see you AND to help you. Wisdom comes from time and experience. And it sounds like they have both.
