I had this epiphany yesterday: the perception of “boredom” that comes on at certain times of the day is not even real. It’s just a withdrawal symptom kind of like the crazy things people say when they’re coming out of anesthesia after surgery.

Thoughts anyone?

Not sure exactly what boredom is, but it’s definitely a feeling I need to explore more because it can be dangerous. It comes from not being satisfied or fulfilled. Thanks for the heads up. I’m going to try and be more mindful of my boredom

Thx bro - at about 4 pm each day, I can get this feeling that going through the next 6-7 hrs sober is dreadfully boring. Like being the wallflower at a school dance or something. That’s what referencing specifically

Interesting take. I know for me it was always 4pm. My mind would always go to gotta pop a beer. I don’t know if it is boredom so much as a conditioning I had done to myself. I think it definitely is a “withdrawal” of sorts. The first few months I couldn’t find the ambition to do much of anything because I didn’t have a drink within reach. Cool thought man!
