I hate feeling weak. I hate crying and making excuses

I hate feeling weak. I hate crying and making excuses why i should do what i did. I want to be okay, i don't want to crave it. I don't want to dream of doing it.

You're not weak, you can do this. You need to be kind to yourself.

You’re not alone! But fighting through to overcome those feelings will be soo worth it! I know how real the dreams can feel, and they tend to mess with my whole day… Try to turn your negative thoughts into positive affirmations.

I do the same thing. It’s cause the drug taught our brain that we need it to survive. Dopamine releases is the same thing you get when you eat food and it’s also the same thing released when you are productive. It takes time for the brain to stop relating the substance to surviving. It takes time. I only have a day clean so, it’s hard.. really hard

Hello Belen, IOP helped me with the why I drank. Listening to others stories help. I also got educated on addiction, alcohol especially. The book Alcohol Explained by William Porter is easy to read and understand what alcoholic does to keep you addicted. Gillian Tietz's podcast Sober Powered talks firsthand how alcohol affects us.
You can read the first few chapters Alcohol Explained free on the website. Best of luck and prayers always. Reach out anytime

First off you aren’t weak. You are talking and asking for help by reaching out. It takes a lot of strength. Dreams are normal, you can do this. Always look to your network.

Don’t beat yourself up. Recovery takes time. We don’t wake up one day and poof… not gonna do that again. Reach out to someone who has gone through it and you will see you are not alone. And you need to put in the work, it’s not easy but worth it for sure!

Belen, I know how that feels .I think in time we all feel that what but feeling and being weak is a difference..And your not because your still here expressing yourself and were here too listen..all ears

I’ve accepted that when I cry, I’m letting myself feel again. I love that about my sobriety but I can appreciate that it sometimes hurts really badly
