So 3 friends in 4 days...two dead one going to prison for life..I just kept repeating the Serenity prayer and being grateful I don't walk that path anymore. Because just like that and it's all gone. Stay strong stay sober and beware of those people places and things that can slip you up.

I’m sorry to hear about your friends 
This is the reality for many of us. If we continue to drink/use, it’s jails, institutions, or death. Thus may sound harsh to a newcomer, or a younger person, but the consequences continue to get worse as our disease progresses. We walk a fine line. May your friends rip, and may the rest of us continue in the recovery path
