I have an ex-girlfriend we’ve been separated for two years. We used to live together over the past two years we’ve talked for a few weeks at a time at least six times every time we talk it’s a major trigger for me, because it never ends well, ever and I drink to oblivion until eventually I wake up

Have you blocked her? Sounds like not a bad idea

She is an obvious trigger for you. If true sobriety is what you desire, you know what needs to be done.
We can get “addicted” to people. I know what it’s like to get dragged back into a relationship. Much like drinking, once we start, we eventually end up back in a bad place. The best option is to say goodbye

I second this. I’m recovering from addiction to a person/relationship that threatened my life if i didn’t get out. Every addiction eventually leads down this path.

That’s extremely rough and I’m so sorry. I hope you guys are doing well.

@michael420841 if talking to this individual is a trigger then why do you talk to/associate with her... Kinda sounds like insanity.
