I have been sober many years before. Recently I stopped going to meetings because I felt like I could find my soulmate in the bars, easier to socialize w drinks. I was wrong. Just a daily struggle and I have done to the realization that o need to stay sober one day at a time and I need a female companion ion who does not drink, period.
I feel you so much on this one brother.. I would love to tell you I’ve reached a viable solution or breakthrough with it but that would be a lie.. daily contemplating about that very issue I have a lot here lately.. ego tells me I can balance it out and then experience tells me I’m 2 -29 on it.. god bless to you and let’s stay hacking away for an answer. Amen
Amen Hunter. It is truly my main struggle daily. I just wish I could find a wonderful sober girl. That would help me. But. No one can change me so I need to be able to stay sober through the program and keep that as my number 1. Hopefully my partner will come. Just hate the feeling of wasting time through life. I am 46! I will be old before we know it and I just wish a sober female companion can share this life w me. That’s all.
The AA Big Book is telling it like it is. The language is old but alcoholism is thousands of years older!
