Hey, Family! My name is Shaundi & I’m an alcoholic/ addict.
I’m blessed to be doing what God called me to do when I first got clean on December 10, 2001.
He told me, he had this big vision for me. The day I wanted to commit suicide on 12/9/2001. He told me, I was meant to serve a mighty nation.
I said to God on that day, “God, I appreciate you for seeing good things in my future but you got the wrong guy.
I have a Newport Cigarette in my left hand, 100 proof of Smirnoff Vodka in my right hand; and I’m ready to go see grandma in the after life. I’m homeless, I lost my career in the Navy. I’m so depressed, my family hates me. They’re embarrassed by my presence. My friends are fed up with me. I’ve been up five days in a roll on a crystal meth bind. HOW can I help other people if I can’t help myself???
Well, The Great Designer is a miracle worker. God has blessed me with dreams I never thought would turn into reality.
I never thought in a million years, I could stop drinking my life away. I never believed I could stop smoking crystal meth. I thought I could never stop popping those MDMA pills.
But, God transformed this young (at the time) and hopeless addict to become a certified substance abuse counselor. I LOVE, I LOVE helping the addicts that was suffering in the streets with their addiction, to see them get some of this recovery; and turn their lives around.
Going to three meetings per day and meeting new folks in recovery. We shared our experience, strength, and hope to help each other stay clean another day.
Then God, sent me to college. He sent me to college to inspire my brothers & sisters they can do anything they want in recovery.
He gave me an 11 year career in the higher education industry. I was able to counsel, advise, and mentor college students to earn their degrees and have wonderful careers and a fulfilling lifestyle.
Little ole Shaundi that wanted to end his life on 12/9/2001. I had zero clue I could help more people than I could ever imagine.
This life we call recovery turned my “motormouth”
into my purpose!
I became a certified professional transformational speaker. I speak at colleges, do keynote speaking, I tell my story on podcasts. I produce daily content on social media platforms.
When I was young, people always said, “Shaundi, you talk too much.
I am a talker. But I talked a lot because God gave me a voice to help a lot of people on a global scale. Why me, Lord?
This recovery turned passion to live their best lives by becoming a a certified professional transformational coach. I was meant to help a lot of people? Lord you have the wrong guy?
“You are meant to serve a mighty nation.”
I’m not the smartest guy in the room but I love helping people. I’ve fallen to my disease of addiction several times since the first time I gained recovery. But I picked myself up.
We have more power than we could ever imagine. I don’t know you but I love you. God, recovery, my family, and my family in recovery are my life.
That’s my time.
Sending you love, light, abundance l, and infinite blessings,
Shaundi Goins
