I have struggled for many years with alcoholism. I currently have 131 days sober. I have just gotten out of long term rehab. (This past Saturday). I am currently working on the fourth step. I have a strong sober support network as well as have a sponsor and a recovery coach. The one thing i do swear by is the Vivatrol injection that i receive every 30 days. It is actually an opiate blocker but seems to work very good for alcohol. Weather it be physical or psychological, I'm not sure, but i seldom have cravings. Alot of people that i speak to that also get the injection feel as strongly as i do. Most insurances cover it. The injection cost $1800.00. Well worth the stability in my sobriety. AND NO, i am not an advocate of the medication but i can attest to the effectiveness. Wishes for all to have a great night.
