I have to be honest with my parents because this is an honest program but I want to lie and hide my life from them the way I did in active addiction change is so hard

It's an important step I think to let people know that are close to you how far you have fallen and be willing to accept the help and encouragement( still hard for me). Sometimes I feel like the lying and hiding part was almost just as addicting. Letting it out feels so good. I can feel the way people look at me different when I explain how bad it was. At the end of the day it's still for me but that helps with anxiety,past guilt and shame.
