I have to toot my own horn because I do

I have to toot my own horn because I don’t share with anyone else- I am a little over a month sober and feeling great! Working, working out and being more involved with my children! It feels good
My 30th birthday is coming up..it’s on St. patty’s day…I’m feeling a little nervous but I also feel strong and confident to say no and not partake in the drinking activities. Anyone have tips or suggestions on how to handle? Ideas on other fun activities to do that day? I love being active and outdoors, but I also live in the cold so outdoor activities might not be ideal, depending on weather that day. I’d love to join a sober hiking group (and other sober groups!) but I’m not sure where to find one

Maybe a nice picnic with the kids.

Hi Lauren - you can find sober activity groups on MeetUp or ThePhoenix apps. I’m going on a sober dog walk this weekend. On your birthday, maybe you can stay home and do something nice for yourself - a bubble bath, cook something fun. Or go to a movie. Sounds square, but you have to protect your sobriety!

Congrats on a month! Focus on how good you’re feeling - plan something special for kids after school!
