I haven’t had a drink in almost 2 years now,

I haven’t had a drink in almost 2 years now, and rarely even think about it.

But we had a cold rainy night Sunday in Colorado. I wanted to be tromping around back home in Brooklyn on a cold rainy night, and drinking whiskey so bad. Rarely do I ever want to be back in NYC. But the lights, rain and cold brought it back.

So I bought a big gulp cherry coke. Everything became ok.

Thanks y’all. Just a fleeting moment, but it was a strong one. Did I miss the booze or just that lifestyle? Most likely just the latter. I used to slam soda when bartending sober, so just went for it again. Thanks for celebrating it with me here.

Congratulations Patrick! It is a tough journey but I am glad you are making it through!

Awesome. Love the head fake re past in Brooklyn. I get those. One time in winter I walked Paul Reveres ride in Boston (it's painted red on the ground) and stopped off and drank beers at pubs. I was 21. Sometimes the red path disappeared under the snow. It was my first experience being on my own and going out drinking in a cool place. And I'm okay with doing it again now and getting hot chocolate or a cappuccino. We can still relive the good moments in our minds eye :eye: but benefit from all the growth at the same time. Loved this. Thanks.
