I havent seen my grandchildren in over 2 yrs. My grandmother passed a way May 1st. I was at my sisters house spending time with my family & my son & his family came to pay their reapects to my father. My son came in and we didnt say anyyhing to one another he went into the house. I was out in the garage & i said high to my grandson & he told me he didnt remember me & it was the first time i seen my granddaughter since her first Birthday & she was scared of me so i played some video games with my grandson & he slowly remembered things we had done prior to my son walking out of my life because i relapsed. So we hungout & played games & my granddaughter joined us. I had to be home for 8pm cause im on house arrest so i kissed them both told them i loved them they told me they loved me too. I left with a full happy heart……..after i was home my sister reached out to me & said Kaiden was spending the night & asked me if i’d like to come by the next day. I didnt have to think about it. Had a hard time sleeping friday night cause i was excited. So i was there by 10am & my daughter in- law showed up to pick him up around 12pm i also spent time with Devin my beautiful granddaughter. I dont know when i’ll see them again but i’m very thankful for my son still coming into the house after seeing my Jeep. I didnt say a word to my son on that friday i just spent time with my grandchildren i shed a few tears driving home that friday cause im very grateful my son allowed his father to spend time with the kids. My only regret is i didnt thank my son Tyler & i wish i had told him i loved him but i didnt want to push him away! Baby steps!

I'm happy for you because even though you didn't get a chance to make a mend (amends) he and the children are now in their minds and hearts.
