I highly recommend sober living. It’s been amazing for my depression and anxiety. Loneliness is a huge trigger
Fully agree because being alone and left with our thoughts usually will only eventually lead to a negative outcome so I’m glad you found a way to avoid that scenario. Keep doing positive things like that for yourself and you’ll only set yourself up for success. Way to go Danielle

Danielle, I agree. But at some point in our recovery we must understand what the loneliness emotions feels like. I can say from my experience it sucked early on. I would be on dating sites, going to meetings and trying to hangout with others as often to avoid that feeling. Then as the more clarity I gained with each passing day I begin to sit in that emotional roller coaster “loneliness” and really feel what’s that like. I can say that I’m at peace, today, with my self. I don’t need anyone to make me feel or change my emotions. I’m not saying I don’t want company. Just that I can just be alone and be ok. There’s no void to fill. Learn to understand our emotions will help us in sobriety. It will lessen our triggers or become more aware of what triggers us.
Have a wonderful day filled love and peace within. Stay sober it’s fun.
I didn’t know loneliness was a trigger. That makes a lot of sense tho.
HI Danielle, yes it is Amazing.. I learned to control my Anxiety and depression by going hiking, camping , traveling, and spend time at the Beach.. Something I wouldn't do before when I got loaded.
Early in recovery solitude isnthelpful.
Loneliness is the biggest trigger!
What do people do that live 6 hours or further away from meetings? And have no support group. I’m not arguing about loneliness is or isn’t a trigger. I’m just saying that learning to cope with that emotion is ideal.
I loved sober living. We didn’t have many rules, just like renting a house with 6 other people in recovery! Always someone to talk to, go do things with, cook dinner with. And there were about 9 Oxford houses in Pensacola so there were activities with both men and women houses.
Yes it is. I find being lonely at times very dangerous. When the feeling came up before I'd go out to bars and nightclubs. Now it's just Netflix on a Friday and boredom. Trying to find a balance has been hard but staying sober is very important. Wish you the best
Loneliness is the biggest trigger for me. Im trying to force myself to brave the fear of socializing and allow people into my life
Alcohol does not fix loneliness. Only drunks want to be around a drunk.
Sober is the only way to go.
