I hope y’all don’t mind me sharing so much on

I hope y’all don’t mind me sharing so much on here! I’ve kept my sober journey off of my main socials, mainly because I don’t want people having access to details related to my health. But I’m just really working on being proud of myself. The picture on the right was taken about a year ago. I was taking care of my mom, and recovering from a severe trauma. I was drinking from the moment I woke up, I’d start the day with three-four shots of vodka with a splash or cranberry. I steadily drank throughout the day, drinking just enough to where I was somewhat sedated & could still help my mom to the bathroom, etc. I’d chug another three-four shots before trying to sleep, and then repeat it all the next day. That went on for about two months straight. Now, I’m 39 days sober. Wowza.:yellow_heart:

That’s good keep it up. I know it’s not easy to watch over a love one when you want to live your life. What your doing is brave.I’m glad your sober cause a sick person cannot watch after sick love one not for to long. Good job!!!

Amazing Rachel!!!! You’re an inspiration!! I was also caring for my mom and eventually lost myself during it..I was in survival mode and that meant not taking care of myself at allllll!! I gained a lot of weight over the past few years but I know it’ll come off! I have no regrets that I cared for her & ultimately lost her in a traumatic way due to overdosing on Fentanyl that her and my brother were using together. Everyone told me to give up and start caring about myself but I couldn’t leave my Mom. She was “sick” and not the person that raised me into the person I am today. I might have lost myself during that time and am still grieving to this day BUT I KNOW deep down in my heart that I never would have been able to live with myself if I didn’t care for her until her final days. Now I have her as my guardian Angel and can finally allow myself to take care of Andrea again!! Lost some friends and family in the process but praying they will come back around when I’m better for a while.

Great job Rachel. I love hearing good news :yellow_heart:

This is amazing. I was just talking to a friend about how awful the bloating of drinking gets and how crazy it is that literally you become a whole new you when you get sober.. thanks for sharing ❤️‍🩹
