I just do not care about my job. I’ve been in this “career” now for over a decade. Web development, in any capacity, is just endless rounds of nothing but changes, almost with no reason. All at the whim of those that have absolutely no appreciation for the time or effort each minute change, and the subsequent dependency breaks, entails!

Working production is even worse, because it’s never right, and the final product is never actually complete. There’s nothing of which, at the end, you can actually be proud.

I used to just long for happy hour, endless nights at the bar, just to get some kind of escape. I only worked for booze. Now, I don’t drink, and I just am having so much trouble finding a reason to care, at all, about this work anymore.

I’ve paid off all my debt, I have $25k in the bank now, and over $23k out on invoice right now. I’m clearly good at what I do, but I just don’t enjoy it, at all.

I need something to care about in life. This is misery.

We spend so much of our lives at work - its not worth it to spend that time being miserable if you have other options. Sounds like you're very smart and capable and have the financial security to try and make a change? It may sound silly but maybe start with one of those career interest quizzes and go from there? I spent years pursuing a career in architectural engineering. Recognizing my own misery and exploring my interests to find fulfilling work was the best decisions I made for myself.
