I just hit 1,000 days without alcohol after being given a week to live and it is bittersweet. My partner continues to drink extremely heavily and is open to help but she has yet to take any action. I am not giving up on her, but cannot see any kind of future together where she drinks. Thank you for listening.

I have the same issue, John. I've only been sober for 57 days, but my partner is still drinking very heavily. He has been sober for 2 days, and I'm always hopeful, but he goes back to drinking. He does want to quit, but I'm getting tired. I can't imagine being 1000 days sober with a partner who drinks heavily. Have you been together the entire time?? My partner and I have both been alcoholics for years, with some small stunts of sobriety. I know the only way we can stay together is both getting sober, which just seems like such a heavy task. I wish you luck, this is not easy. Congrats on your 1000 days!!!
