Keep busy, drink a lot of water, learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable you have to ride out the shitty feelings. Journal, read about people going through the same thing on here, or another community (I like stop drinking Reddit group), also have someone hold you accountable if possible. Tell a friend. The first week is very hard but the only way out is through

Maybe find a local meeting. You can download the AA app, the one with the blue chair. It’ll tell you when and where in your local area. Just don’t pick up no matter what. Realize that your life has become unmanageable and start to believe in a power greater than yourself.

To begin day one, best way to start....

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING TO USE NO MATTER WHAT.
DUMP OUT AND THROW AWAY ANYTHING LEFT IN YOUR HOUSE.

Just stop and think why you wanted to get sober in the first place and let that be your why. Your sober date is also a good motivation because each day is one more day than you did have. The sober buddy app is really cool. Also just know you did take the right step in realizing you are ready to change and that is a huge step so let that be your motivation knowing that no matter how many times you break sobriety as long as you keep getting back up.

Stay busy, and consume yourself with meetings. It curbs the edge. I also like to be outside and do something in nature :slight_smile:

Good luck and remember, one day at a time. Or even one moment or second sometimes lol.

A bit of connection and community- zoom meetings or in person. The interaction with people who “ get it” is invaluable.
