I just want this metal rollercoaster to stop! I had a good day and a great evening with my middle daughter celebrating her birthday, but now she’s back at her mothers house with my other two kids and I can’t get back in a good headspace.

Wow...I am going through the same thing, with the roller coaster ride; but it's better than being on the " hamster wheel" (Addiction), going absolutely nowhere...at least it's temporary..and you will come out on the other side feeling a lot better

Use that experience to your advantage.
I haven't had a drink in 15 years when I got sober it took 10 years to get even to a decent headspace I'm still working on it everyday ...
this isn't true for everyone this is my experience
If all is well in family maybe some other factor is in your mind ... theres a step for that.
