I keep thinking I’ll be able to drink again one day. But remind myself I have tried that one hundred times before. I have to be done. No more….
As AA says 1 drink is too much and 100 is never enough. In time our memory gets muddled and fades but it never really forgets. You can never have another drink or you will wind up back where you started. It has been substantiated. I am part of that proof. Learn from others. Best of luck
I told myself that lie many times. I kept thinking I can drink a little when I am with family or friends. I wish it was true.
I had 2 years clean, and thought I could control my drinking, after loosing EVERY THING!,I now have 83 day's clean and sober,I now understand my brain is always trying to kill me...
Thank you for your share Peter. It’s so important to voice your thoughts. There are days I am really sad I can’t drink but just remember, one minute, hour or day at a time. You got this. Have hope and keep reaching out. here for you!
Yep, we can’t have just one. Don’t even try.
Thanks guys. I know one will just open the door again.
We call that stinking thinking. It’s very common. The big book talks about this. Remember, alcoholism is not just a physical allergy. We need to get and stay spiritually fit in order to protect us from these thoughts
Amen!
This is a huge thing to accept. Proud of you!
Getting to the point where you admit this is actually an accomplishment!
